Gua Sha & Stationary Cupping Massage
Ancient Healing Wisdom
Gua Sha and Cupping Massage are ancient pain relieving healing techniques that releases stuck energy from beneath the skin to promote Qi and blood flow. Gua Sha has many benefits including: relieving pain especially from repetitive overuse, inexplicable muscle pain, and pain due to past injuries. It also can relieve the symptoms of a common cold or flu.
Cupping helps to relieve muscle tension, which can improve overall blood flow and promote cell repair. It may also help form new connective tissues and create new blood vessels in the tissue. People get it for many purposes, including to help with pain, inflammation, blood flow, relaxation and well-being, and as a type of deep-tissue massage.
The basic Gua Sha technique uses a Gua Sha tool, such as a ceramic soup spoon, to lightly scrape the surface of the skin using a simple technique for about 30 seconds (or more). For Cupping Massage the therapist puts special cups on your skin to create suction. Cupping increases blood circulation to the area where the cups are placed. Cupping can access deeper muscles and joints that Gua Sha does not reach.
WHAT ARE THOSE RED MARKS? Gua Sha scraping and the suction of the cupping of the skin may cause splotchy red marks to appear in the area as the blood rises to the surface of the skin. These splotchy spots are known as Sha. The Sha only appears in tight areas of the body that actually need energy to release. Don't worry, the marks are painless and go away after a few days to a week.
Gua Sha and Stationary Cupping can be booked as a treatment of its own, or incorporated into any Therapeutic Massage Therapy Treatment (no additional charge).
People who are taking blood thinners or have clotting disorders aren’t good candidates for gua sha.

Vacuum Cupping Therapy
With the help of modern technology, cupping therapy has been advanced to be an easier process and is now more inclusive, making it possible to treat other parts of the body. Vacuum Cupping is now performed with a system that creates continuous suction in the cups through tubes with a machine. A licensed professional can apply them, move them, massage with them, and adjust the suction setting as needed. Vacuum Cupping technology now comes with multiple sized cups, for treatment of the face, arms, abdomen, and legs. Another cool treatment option available with Vacuum Therapy is the BBL treatment. Yes, you read that right. You can use the vacuum and cups to enhance the size of the buttocks non-invasively and painlessly. This is a popular alternative treatment to having surgery done.
A few treatments that can be provided with Vacuum Cupping are:
Muscle Relaxation, Stress & Anxiety Relief
Lymphatic Drainage Massage & Detoxification
Cellulite Reduction
Buttocks Enhancement
Body Contouring
Therapeutic Vacuum Cupping Massage (Performed by RMT)
Used to lift and stretch soft tissue (muscle, fascia/connective, attachments), separate fused tissue layers (i.e. ITB and TFL), release and soften scar tissue, open body drainage systems to aid in decongesting “solid bloat” and increase hydration of tissues. The suction created by the cups can also help to stimulate the digestive system and promote better digestion. Cupping can be applied to a tight Diaphragm and help with reflux issues. Bones also respond well to treatment.
Conditions of chronic and acute pain can be relieved with minimal discomfort and tense muscles softened quickly and easily. An effective way to release restrictions in fascia and scar tissue, such as plantar fasciitis.

Lymphatic Drainage Massage / Detoxification (Performed by RMT):
The lymphatic system is a crucial part of your immune system. Through a network of hundreds of lymph nodes, it drains fluid called lymph to be transported back into your bloodstream. It also removes bodily waste and carries white blood cells that help prevent infection. A lymphatic drainage massage can help you expedite your body's natural way of getting rid of toxins by pushing fluid to the lymph channels through a gentle and targeted technique. Getting yourself a Lymphatic Massage now can lead not only to lose weight but to good overall health. Lymphatic massage via cupping helps move the lymph through the body to the lymph nodes just as a traditional massage would, but far more effectively since the machine features a very powerful suction to ensure the fluid is being moved.
